Installer does not start under Windows XP

I am running Windows XP SP2 on a virtual maschine

I already have HeidiSQL 9.3 installed on this maschine. Now i want to upgrade to 9.4, but the installer (32 or 64bit) does not start.

There is no error message. Just nothing happens when the installer runs.

i am using the portable version 9.4 now on this maschine. it works. its just a problem with the installer.

Oh I guess in that case the installer (InnoDB) dropped support for WinXP. Sorry, I have no workaround for that issue.

Well, no: I've installed 9.4 on my XP SP3 without trouble. Might it be a service pack thing?
