HeidiSQL v9.x or v10.2 on MySQL 4.0 / 4.1

Hi, I am newbie on Heidisql / MySql

If we use HeidiSql (v9.x or latest version v10.2), on an old MySql server (MySql v4.0 or v4.1), questions:

  1. does HeidiSql still develop to support MySql v4.0/4.1?

  2. if not, can something/error happen on MySql data/table/etc, because HeidiSql v9.x / v10.x is not compatible with mysql 4.0/4.1?

Just want to be sure

Thanks :)

MySQL 4.1 should work, but I'm unsure if you can even log on to a MySQL 4.0 server. Just try it. But there's no guarantee. I am more concentrating on the main stream server versions, and 4.0 is not one of them :)

Yup, currently I am using HeidiSQL 10.2.0.5599 on MySQL 4.1.22.

Hope HeidiSQL will stil compatible in near future. Hehehe

Thanks :)

Asking again :D

On MySQL 4.1, should we choose "libmariadb.dll" or "libmysql.dll"?

libmariadb is newer, so I guess libmysql is the only option for you.

Note you can also place even older (compatible) dll's into your HeidiSQL folder, which then will be selectable there.
