First time user here of HeidiSQL, v9.3

I have searched around however cannot seem to find info on this very basic question I know, however would appreciate some help to get started please.

a) I have mySQL installed locally and also Workbench 6.3 I would like to use HeidiSQL to replace my use of mySQL if that makes sense to do so as I have read that Heidi is a pretty good solution.

I have done a "Create" of a database in Heidi however I cannot find - "Tools-> Load SQL file" as I have read elsewhere.

How do I import a mySQL DB into Heidi ?

b) alternatively on reading a few posts, I get the impression I can just "connect" to an existing mySQL DB using Heidi rather importing - is that so ? If so how so, (a link on how to would be fine)

c) say I am using predominantly Wordpress apps, do I need to alter anything in there specifically to have them use HeidiSQL ?

I am happy to read links and try to work through this, I just don't know where to start at the moment.

I don't think I understand your question. MySQL is a client-server application and both Workbench and HeidiSQL are clientes: you have to create a session to connect to your existing local MySQL instance.
