Can't get it working under Wine Linux 16.04 and 14.04

Have tried on two machines, the latest a new 16.04 (lts) Ubuntu with Wine.. I get the start up screen to set up the connection, the "new" button is black but works but the red quit button (upper left will not terminate the program I never get past the connection screen. I'm using some other clients successfully with the local Mariadb installation. I also ran into the same situation with Ubuntu 14.04. Not sure if there is some secret incantation with Wine ( I have never run anything with Wine before, I have enjoyed Heidi on Windows.. Would like to carry it forward to Linux as I leave Windows behind..

Sounds like a Wine issue. I recall there was already a Wine fix for black icons in HeidiSQL. Try to update Wine?

I removed the Ubuntu supplied version and downloaded the more up to date version of Wine from the Wine HQ site and Heidi is functioning I still have a black button on the lower right and left on the connection dialog but things seem to be functioning.. Thank you, would like to figure the button issue though..

Open winecfg and set Windows version to Windows XP on Applications tab. This fix black buttons issue.
