YugabyteDB is a database with wire-compatible PostgreSQL protocol. I can connect and it lists all PG tables, but new created datqbases are not show. Doesn't matter if I create the databases in HeidiSQL or in YDB shell, it doesn't appear in the db list. Notice that the db is in fact created and usable through YDB shell (and other tools).

Did you try to select that new database in the session settings?
